BASIC RIDER COURSE 1 (BRC)

NEED YOUR LICENSE?

Upon successful completion of the Basic Rider Course (BRC) we will issue a waiver to exempt you from needing to take the Wisconsin DMV motorcycle road test. You just simply show your waiver at the DMV, and take the learners permit exam, if you haven’t already received your motorcycle temps.

If you still need to take the Wisconsin DMV Motorcycle Written Test, click the link below to download the Wisconsin DMV Handbook to study for your Motorcycle Temps.

The Basic Rider Course is designed for riders with little to no riding experience and for those riders wishing to brush up on their riding skills. Moto University provides a motorcycle for you. The cost for this class is $380.00. These classes consist of two days, a Saturday, and Sunday. The Basic Rider Course covers the fundamentals for developing safe and responsible motorcycle riding skills. The classroom component is now completed on-line and is required prior to attending the in-person riding class. The E-course Certificate must be printed out and provided to a Ridercoach prior to the beginning of class.

Please Note: the E-course Certificate is only valid for 30-days prior to taking your riding class so plan accordingly when taking he class and printing out your E-course Certificate. A link to the MSF E-course will be emailed to you upon completion of your registration.

In order to attend the Basic Rider Course class, you must be at least 16 years of age, and hold a valid driver’s license or driver learner’s permit. Prior to entering this course, one of the requirements is that you are able to ride a bicycle. Having experience driving a manual transmission automobile can also be helpful but is not necessary. Students under the age of 18 must also bring a parent or guardian with them on the first day of the class. The parent/guardian is required to sign a Parental/Guardian Waiver Form in the presence of a Ridercoach. If this is not a possibility, the form can be provided to a Ridercoach with a NOTARIZED stamp of the parent/guardian signature. Please see the home page for minors taking the class.

  4. Long Sleeve Shirt or Jacket, must fully cover your arms
